Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how 17847688 Canada Corporation (dba Swift Hire) ("Swift Hire", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Swift Hire mobile app and website (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text), and account role (employer or worker).

1.2 Worker Profile & Compliance Information

Workers may provide, and we may collect:

  • Preferred industries, skills, bio, and availability status
  • Professional certifications and their issuing details
  • Compliance documents required to work in regulated sectors, including government-issued ID, proof of work eligibility, and direct deposit banking information
  • Confirmation that you have provided your Social Insurance Number (SIN) for tax reporting purposes — the SIN itself is never stored in our database. It is collected only through a separate, secure process for T4/T4A reporting.
  • Sector-specific documentation (e.g. driver's abstract, WHMIS, Working at Heights, food handler certificate, PSW certificate, vulnerable sector check) where applicable to your industry

1.3 Employer Business Information

Employers may provide, and we may collect:

  • Business registration documents, WSIB clearance certificates, CGL insurance documentation, and banking pre-authorization for verification purposes
  • Job posting details, including location, pay rate, and role requirements

1.4 Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers or bank account numbers on our servers — worker bank details used for payouts are shown to us only as the last four digits. Wallet balances, transaction history, and withdrawal records are stored to operate the marketplace and satisfy financial record-keeping obligations.

1.5 Booking, Location & Usage Information

  • Job and booking details, including job location, shift times, and booking status history
  • Ratings and reviews submitted between employers and workers
  • Device information, app version, log data, and general usage analytics
  • Information you submit through in-app messaging, notifications, or support requests

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and administer your account and authenticate you securely
  • To match workers with relevant job opportunities and operate the real-time dispatch board
  • To verify identity, compliance documents, and business credentials before allowing bookings
  • To process payments, payouts, platform fees, and withdrawals
  • To send booking updates, dispatch alerts, wallet notifications, and service communications
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • To comply with tax, employment, and other legal obligations in Canada and the United States
  • To improve and maintain the reliability of the Services

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

  • Between marketplace participants:a worker's relevant profile, verified compliance status, and ratings are visible to employers considering a booking; an employer's business name and job details are visible to workers browsing jobs
  • Service providers: we use trusted third parties to operate the Services, including cloud database hosting, document storage (Cloudinary), payment processing (Stripe), and application hosting (Render). These providers process data only as needed to perform their function for us.
  • Legal & safety: where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Swift Hire, our users, or the public
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy continuing to apply to your information

4. Data Retention

We retain account and profile information for as long as your account is active. Financial and transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable Canadian and U.S. tax and financial regulations, even after account deletion. Compliance documents are retained only as long as necessary for verification and legal record-keeping, after which they are securely deleted or anonymized.

5. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can update most profile information directly in the app. To request deletion of your account and associated data, see our Delete Account page. We will retain and use information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, as described in Section 4.

6. Children's Privacy

Swift Hire is intended for users who are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your province, state, or territory. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected information from a child, we will delete it.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords and refresh tokens, and role-based access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Data Transfers

Swift Hire operates across Canada and the United States. Your information may be processed and stored in either country, or by service providers located elsewhere, and may therefore be subject to the laws of jurisdictions other than your own.

9. Cookies & Similar Technologies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and understand how visitors use the site. The Swift Hire mobile app uses secure on-device storage to keep you signed in and does not rely on browser cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and where required, we will provide additional notice.
